Day 1 : ANTANANARIVO
On arrival in Antananarivo, you will be met and transferred to the stylish Radisson Blu Hotel for an overnight stay with breakfast included.
Day2-4 : ANTANANARIVO – ANDASIBE
After breakfast, your dedicated professional, English-speaking Malagasy guide and driver will collect you from the Radisson Blu Hotel. Set off on the 3-hour and a half drive eastwards to the escarpment, where you stay three nights in an en-suite bungalow at the Andasibe Hotel or Vakona Forest Lodge on a half-board basis.
Your guides will take you on day and night rainforest walks to look for resident wildlife, including the marvelous Indris, which sounds like humpback whales.
For one of your night walks, you can explore the concession managed by the proactive NGO association Mitsinjo. Another option is to visit a small rainforest parcel privately managed by VOIMMA, a guiding association based in Andasibe. At both sites, incredible nocturnal wildlife awaits., especially in the spring and summer months (September to April).
Day 5 : ANDASIBE-ANTANANARIVO
You’ll be driven back up to Antananarivo, where you will stay overnight in Relais Des Plateaux, with breakfast included.
Day 6-9 : ANTANANARIVO—NOSY BE
You’ll be transferred to Antananarivo airport to check in for the flight to Nosy Be. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Palm Beach or Nosy Be Hotel to stay 4 nights, all meals included.
During your stay here, you can arrange various excursions through reception, using The Residence as your base. (Payable locally). These include a boat trip to the island of Tanikely, a marine reserve around which snorkeling and diving are excellent.
Wildlife enthusiasts can visit Lokobe National Park on southeast Nosy Be island, which protects the last remaining tract of Sambirano Forest on Nosy Be. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including endangered black lemurs and colorful Panther chameleons. Lokobe is a sweet experience; getting there partly by dugout canoes is part of the fun.
Day 10 : NOSY BE – ANTANANARIVO – FLY BACK HOME
You’ll be collected from your hotel and transferred to Nosy Be airport to check in for the Air Madagascar flight back to Antananarivo. On arrival, you will be met and, time allowing, taken to the artist’s market for some souvenir shopping.
You’ll have a day room at Relais des Plateaux. Late evening transfer back to the airport for the Air France check-in.
