Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo

Upon arrival at Antananarivo International Airport, a representative will greet you and facilitate your transfer to the designated group hotel. Generally, this arrival is expected to occur late in the evening, so a group briefing will be held the following day. Private airport transfers are available for an additional fee if your arrival occurs on a different day. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Antananarivo to Andasibe (130km)

After breakfast, a wildlife expert driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive you 3.5 hours east to Andasibe National Park. Along the way, there will be a stop at the Peyreiras Reptile Farm to observe unique endemic species of chameleons, lizards, geckos, and frogs. Arrival in Andasibe will be by the end of the morning, with dinner and an overnight stay at a local hotel.

Day 3: Andasibe (Mantadia & Vakona Visits)

Discover the diverse ecosystem of Mantadia National Park by venturing into its primary rainforest, where you can observe the Diademed Sifaka, Black-and-white Ruffed Lemurs, insectivorous tenrecs, and other unique species. A scenic waterfall offers a great location for a packed lunch. In the afternoon, a visit to Lemur Island allows for an up-close encounter with Madagascar’s unique lemurs. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be provided at the hotel.

Day 4: Analamazaotra to Antananarivo

After a delicious breakfast, enjoy a captivating morning excursion to the renowned Analamazaotra Special Reserve. This reserve is celebrated for its distinctive lemurs, especially the Indri, as well as a variety of indigenous flora and fauna, including rare orchids. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch and begin the journey back to Antananarivo. Upon arrival, dinner will be served, and comfortable overnight accommodations will be provided at the hotel.

Day 5: Antananarivo to Morondava

Following breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for a flight to Morondava, located on the west coast of the island. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel where you can explore the city’s local culture, heavily influenced by fishing traditions. Dinner and an overnight stay will be provided at the hotel.

Day 6: Morondava to Bekopaka

An early morning departure will take you northward on a 200-kilometer journey to the village of Bekopaka, situated at the entrance of the park. The journey includes fascinating views of baobab-lined paths, the enchanting Kirindy Forest, and a ferry crossing to the village of Belon’i Tsiribihina for lunch. Continue through rice fields and quaint villages, arriving in Bekopaka by late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay at a local hotel.

Day 7: Tsingy of Bemaraha

After breakfast, embark on a full day dedicated to exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tsingy of Bemaraha. A trek through this renowned landscape offers views of blade-like limestone peaks, unique flora, and wildlife. A picnic lunch within the park is included, and a suspended bridge crossing enhances the adventure. Witness a breathtaking sunset from the Tsingy summit before heading back for dinner and overnight accommodations at the hotel.

Day 8: Bekopaka to Morondava

Day 9: Morondava to Antsirabe

The journey concludes in Ranomafana National Park by late afternoon. Dinner and an overnight stay will be provided at the hotel.

Day 11: Ranomafana National Park

The morning begins with a trek in the wet forests of Ranomafana National Park, which contains a remarkable range of biodiversity, including rare lemur species and endemic plants, some used by locals in traditional medicine. After the morning’s activities, return to the hotel for lunch and optional spa treatments or rest. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 12: Ranomafana to Ranohira

After breakfast, travel south to Ranohira, with a stop in Ambalavao for lunch and a visit to a workshop where the traditional Antemoro paper is made. The journey includes scenic stops to admire the changing landscapes of mountains and rice fields. Dinner and an overnight stay will be provided at the hotel.

Day 13: Isalo National Park

Begin the day with a trek through Isalo National Park, famous for its Jurassic-era rock formations. The itinerary includes visits to the Canyon of Makis and a natural swimming pool for a refreshing swim, with a picnic lunch within the park. Day 14: Ranohira to Toliara

After breakfast, travel toward the coastal city of Toliara. Along the way, stop at the Arboretum d’Antsokay to explore endangered plant species native to this region. Following the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then check into a comfortable hotel in Toliara for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 15: Toliara to Anakao

For those not returning to Antananarivo, breakfast is followed by a transfer to the jetty for a boat ride south to Anakao. Adjacent to a fishing village, this coastal retreat offers beautiful sunsets and optional excursions, including snorkeling, boat trips, quad biking, and a visit to Nosy Ve island. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Days 16-17: Anakao

Take advantage of hotel-organized excursions, including a recommended trip to Nosy Ve island, a protected coral reef paradise where you can see vibrant fish, lobsters, coral species, and the iconic Paille en Queue bird. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be provided at the hotel.

Day 18: Anakao to Antananarivo & Departure

After an early breakfast, transfer by boat to Toliara and then fly back to Antananarivo. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided afternoon walking tour of the old city, including the Rova palace complex with panoramic views of the city. A farewell dinner will be hosted, followed by a transfer to the airport for your departure. Lunch and dinner arrangements are left to individual discretion.
